The first graduate of the International Education track in the Master’s program in Education

Sophie Stammwitz and Anatoli Rakhkochkine

In the winter semester of 2024/25, we had the pleasure of celebrating the first graduate of the International Education track in the Master’s program in Education. Sophie Stammwitz successfully completed all modules, including her master’s thesis, within this specialization. In her thesis, she explored the largely unexamined topic of the effects of citizen trips within the context of town twinning. While such trips are a common feature of town twinning activities, their educational impact and the mechanisms through which they create educational experiences have received little to no research attention. Drawing on theories of international education and adult learning, Sophie Stammwitz examined this overlooked subject in depth. Moving seamlessly from academia to the professional world, she has already secured a position. We congratulate her and wish her all the best in her future career!
