About Our Chair

The Research and Teaching Unit focuses on issues of diversity education and international educational research. We analyse how education and socialization function under the conditions of diversity, migration, and internationalization and how educational institutions and teacher education change under these conditions.  We carry out theoretical and empirical research into conditions, processes and outcomes of education in different national and cultural contexts from a comparative perspective. Our research relates to different levels in the systems of education and includes non-formal education and the entire lifespan but we focus on compulsory education. We pay attention to the interdisciplinary nature of diversity education and international educational research and co-operate with other disciplines in social sciences and humanities.
