Matthias Müller
Matthias Müller studied Education at the University of Vienna and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (2019) and a Master of Arts (2022). In addition to the Master’s program, he worked as a tutor in the certificate course „Basics of education for teachers with refugee background“ (2021-2022).
His Master thesis „I am glad that there is a shortage of teachers […] [without] we wouldn’t have had a chance, […] because the atmosphere is (.) not so ready for (.) inclusion.“ – Situational Analysis of (Structural) Discrimination of Internationally Trained Teachers in Austria (Universität Wien, 2022) dealt with opportunities and barriers for graduates of the certificate course on their way to employment in Austria.
Since May 2022, research fellow at the Department of Education with specialisation in Diversity Education and International Education Research at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg. Research interests: techer professionalism, teaching profession and teacher education in international comparison and in the context of (forced) migration.
